This site is the project of Wylie Schwartz, an art history professor, skier and sailer based in Ithaca, NY.
As an art historian, Wylie’s research interests include artist collectives and experimental pedagogy; collaborative and socially engaged art and its theoretical contexts; and the nature of creativity and the creative process.
When Wylie is not busy teaching students the history and theory of modern and contemporary art, she is likely to be sailing, skiing, paddle boarding - or working on one of the historic properties she has found herself the caretaker of.
